Meet Jane Doe of Forest Family Therapy

Welcome, I’m Jane. Here’s a Little About Who I Am and How I Work

Starting therapy is a meaningful step, and I believe you deserve to know who is sitting across from you, listening to your story, and supporting your growth. Since this is your first introduction to me, I want to share a little more about who I am, what I value, and the kind of space I hope to create for you here at Forest Family Therapy.

I offer online therapy for individuals, couples, and families across Michigan. My goal is to provide a calm, supportive environment where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin making sense of what you are experiencing.

My Approach to Therapy

Work with people who are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. This might look like stress that feels constant, relationship challenges that keep repeating, or past experiences that still feel heavy in the present.

My approach is collaborative and client centered. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, help you understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and offer practical tools that support meaningful change.

I use evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and mindfulness based strategies. More than any specific technique, I prioritize creating a space that feels safe, steady, and non judgmental, where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

Why I Became a Therapist

I have always been drawn to people’s stories, especially the parts that are difficult to share or easy to carry alone. I believe therapy can be a place where people reconnect with their inner voice, build emotional resilience, and regain a sense of clarity and balance in their lives.

It is a privilege to support clients as they set boundaries, strengthen relationships, navigate transitions, and discover strengths they may not have realized were already there.

What You Can Expect in Our Work Together

Therapy with me is warm, grounded, and supportive. Some sessions may feel reflective and light, while others may feel deeper and more vulnerable. Wherever you are emotionally, I aim to meet you with understanding and care.

You can expect that I will:

  • Listen without judgment
  • Help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns
  • Offer guidance and tools when helpful
  • Support you in building healthier ways of coping and relating

Above all, I hold space for the belief that change is possible, even when it feels difficult to see.

Who I Love Working With

I enjoy supporting adults, couples, and families who are navigating stress, relationship challenges, communication difficulties, parenting concerns, trauma, and major life transitions. I work with clients who value insight, collaboration, and a thoughtful approach to personal growth.

If you are looking for a therapist who offers both compassion and practical support, we may be a good fit.

If You Are Thinking About Therapy, You Are Already Taking a Brave Step

Reaching out for support can feel intimidating, especially if therapy is new or past experiences have been challenging. My hope is to make this process feel approachable and supportive. You deserve care, understanding, and a space where your experiences are taken seriously.

If this introduction resonates with you, you are welcome to explore more about my work at Forest Family Therapy and see if working together feels like the right next step.
