Individual Therapy

When You Feel Overwhelmed, Stuck, or Disconnected
Individual therapy offers a steady, confidential space to sort through what feels heavy, confusing, or hard to manage on your own. At different points in life, stress can quietly build. You may notice anxiety that does not fully settle, patterns in relationships that keep repeating, or a sense that you are not quite yourself.
I provide individual therapy for adults who want greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and practical tools for navigating daily life. Many of the people I work with are in their mid twenties to mid thirties, including new parents adjusting to major life transitions while also carrying unresolved stress or trauma.
You do not need to be in crisis to begin. Therapy can be a place for growth, direction, and meaningful change.
Concerns Individual Therapy Can Address
Individual therapy may be helpful if you are experiencing:
- Persistent anxiety, stress, or racing thoughts
- Lingering effects of trauma or difficult past experiences
- Emotional overwhelm that feels hard to regulate
- Repeated relationship conflicts or boundary challenges
- Parenting stress, especially as a new parent
- Patterns shaped by narcissistic abuse or other relational trauma
Sometimes clients say, “I feel stretched too thin,” or “I do not know how to break these patterns.” Therapy helps you slow down and understand what is happening beneath the surface.

How Individual Therapy Helps
Over time, many clients begin to feel more grounded and steady. You may notice improved emotional regulation and a clearer understanding of your triggers. Situations that once felt overwhelming can start to feel more manageable.
Our work focuses on building practical skills, strengthening coping strategies, and increasing insight into long standing patterns. Rather than simply managing symptoms, therapy supports deeper change in how you relate to yourself and others.
Clients often report meaningful shifts within the first month as we introduce structured tools and consistent support.
My Approach to Individual Therapy
My approach is supportive, collaborative, and skills focused. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and mindfulness based strategies to help you understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact.
When working with trauma related concerns, we begin by establishing emotional safety and grounding skills. From there, we gradually explore the experiences and patterns that continue to influence your present life. The pace is steady and intentional, ensuring you feel supported rather than overwhelmed.
Treatment planning is personalized. In our early sessions, we clarify your goals, explore your background, and create a plan centered on achievable progress. We regularly check in on your growth and adjust as needed, measuring progress through improvements in emotional regulation, coping skills, communication, and overall well being.

What to Expect
Sessions are 55 minutes and are typically scheduled weekly or biweekly depending on your needs.
In the first session, we focus on understanding your history, current concerns, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This foundation helps ensure you feel heard and supported from the start.
Ongoing sessions are conversational but structured. I offer guidance and practical tools while maintaining space for reflection and exploration. Between session communication is reserved for scheduling or essential updates so that therapeutic work remains focused within our sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does individual therapy usually last?
The length of therapy varies based on your goals and concerns. Some clients attend for several months, while others choose longer term support.
How often do sessions take place?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions and may transition to biweekly as stability and progress increase.
What if I am not sure my struggles are serious enough?
Many people hesitate for this reason. You do not need a diagnosis or crisis to begin. Therapy can help clarify what you are experiencing and what support would be helpful.
What if I have never been to therapy before?
That is completely okay. The first session is designed to help you feel comfortable, informed, and supported without pressure.
Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially if you are used to handling everything on your own. You do not need to be completely certain before starting.
